The idea for this project came from two places. My dive buddy and I had already been bringing a similar emergency sheet with us on dives because we wanted the most important information available quickly if something went wrong.
Listening to Speaking Sidemount Episode 107 with Stratis Kas and Lionel Wolovitz brought that topic back into focus in a very direct way. The episode describes a serious diving incident, the rescue effort, and how critical clear emergency information can become in a real situation.
That combination was the trigger for SafeDiveCard: instead of keeping such a document as a private workaround, I wanted to build a tool that makes it easier for other divers to create, update and share a structured emergency card before a trip or a dive day.
You can reach me at safedivecard@it-schmitt.de. I appreciate every idea for improvement and I am also happy about friendly conversations around diving and the project.
